I recently had the privilege of meeting two remarkable individuals: Dr. Antonie de Wilde, a Waste Recycling Expert at SATE, and Prof. Samson James Opolot, the Vice Chancellor at Ibanda University. We needed an ambient atmosphere that would enable us have a soothing meet-up, this is why we had to choose Protea Hotel by Marriott® Kampala Skyz. Our conversation centered around the AI for Climate and Nature Grand Challenge, and it was nothing short of enlightening.

From Dr. de Wilde, I learned about innovative approaches to waste recycling and how they can drive significant progress in sustainability and renewable energy. His expertise highlighted the crucial role that advanced technologies and smart solutions play in addressing our environmental challenges.

Prof. Opolot, with his extensive knowledge and leadership in academia, shared profound insights into how AI can be harnessed to tackle climate issues and enhance our understanding of nature. His perspectives on integrating AI with environmental science opened new avenues for thinking about how we can leverage technology for a sustainable future.

In these discussions, I had the opportunity to share my own experiences and ideas on the intersection of technology and environmental stewardship. It was inspiring to exchange knowledge and explore how we can collectively drive meaningful change.

These conversations reaffirmed the importance of collaboration and continuous learning. As we move forward, let’s stay curious, stay connected, and work together to turn our ideas into action for a better planet.

Thank you Pondi Ivan for the creative shot.
